Technology Acquisition Project
The ILJ study of acquisition of information technology is a
cooperative agreement with the COPS office.

Objectives
- Develop guidelines
- Describe changing landscape of information technology in law enforcement
- Identify organizational (capacities, financial) constraints and needs
that impact acquisition.
- Identify critical success factors
- Discern patterns in the 4 phases.
- Compile list of resources of organizations, research material, vendors,
etc.
- Create recommendations
- Raise the awareness of law enforcement community about information
technology acquisition issues.
- Assess the impact of funding of IT and IT administration
