Survey Research
Surveys are a key measurement tool in social science research. ILJ’s expertise includes all aspects of phone, in-person, mail, and online surveys, including planning, design, and development; pretesting; assessing reliability and validity of data; conducting/administering surveys; analyses of quantitative and qualitative survey data; and production of reports. ILJ has used survey research in a variety of contexts including training evaluations, focus groups, and data collection on a wide range of criminal justice operations and issues.
ILJ projects using a variety of survey instruments include
- Assessing the effects of information technology on community policing services
- Assessing implementation and outcomes of grant- funded projects to support interoperable communications among public safety agencies
- Exploring best practices in law enforcement-private security partnerships
