Office of Justice Programs (OJP) Housing Initiative

For the Community Capacity Development Office (CCDO), U. S. Department of Justice, ILJ provides technical assistance (TA) to 184 Weed and Seed sites that have received funding from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Weed and Seed grantees target violent and drug-related crime in specific neighborhoods; implement community policing strategies; and bring in human services and other resources to revitalize neighborhoods and improve residents’ quality of life. (ILJ is also CCDO’s TA contractor for Weed and Seed). The CCDO/HUD TA project includes providing on-site TA; brokering and monitoring TA delivered by other experts; and performing extensive administrative work to help CCDO identify performance indicators and monitor progress, interagency agreements, and expenditures.
