* This
is a seminar geared toward the Tribal grantees. Tribal agencies are
strongly encouraged to attend the Scottsdale seminar. If you have a conflict with
this session, please register for a different seminar.
Attendees:
These Regional Grants Management
Training Seminars (RGMT) are designed specifically for people responsible
for the programmatic and financial administration of grants awarded from
federal programs administered by the COPS Office. If you are a COPS in
Schools grant award recipient, please be aware that attendance at a
Regional Grants Management Training Seminar may not be substituted for
attendance at a mandatory COPS in Schools Training session.
COPS Tribal
Resources Grant Program (TRGP) grantees receiving their first TRGP award
are required, as a condition of their award, to send two representatives
to attend one RGMT Seminar. Grantees who receive COPS funds through other
hiring programs also benefit from attending these seminars and are
encouraged to attend, although attendance is not a condition of such
awards.
Curriculum:
Knowledgeable and experienced COPS officials will introduce seminar
topics, serve as primary seminar presenters, and facilitate seminar
discussions. Topics to be covered during the seminars include the
application review process, grantee financial reporting requirements,
methods of payments, matching requirements, indirect costs, closeout
procedures, monitoring responsibilities, procurement, lobbying, compliance
with drug-free workplace requirements, supplanting, and audits.
Cost:
Funding for the Regional Grants Management Training
Seminars was obtained from the COPS Office. Seminar attendees will be
responsible for all costs associated with their participation in the
seminar, including transportation, lodging, and meals. Tribal agencies
are permitted to use COPS Tribal Resources Grant Program (TRGP) funds to
cover these costs. There is no seminar fee.
Attire:
The format will be informal and
participants are invited to dress casually.
Accommodations:
A block of rooms has been reserved at
each of the hotels. Room rates are the prevailing government per diem for
each respective city, with the exception of Scottsdale, which is 25% above
per diem. Once you receive confirmation of your registration, please
call the hotel directly to make reservations.
