Bits and Bytes
Bit: A binary electronic switch which represents a 1 or 0
8 bits = 1 byte = 1 character (1, 2, 3, a, b, c)
1 byte = 1 character (a, b, c, 1, 2, 3)
1 million bytes = 1 Megabyte (MB)
1000 MBs = 1 Gigabyte (GB)
1 Megahertz (MHz) = 1 million instruction cycles/sec.
Data width: how many bits a processor, bus or other component can process at once.
