Laurie Samuel

Ms. Samuel works on ILJ's projects with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in the District of Columbia providing assistance and coordination for the Homicide Case Review Study. She is also part of the team helping to redesign MPD's Early Warning System into a comprehensive Personnel Performance Management System. She holds a B.A. (with honors) in Criminology from the University of Toronto and an M.S. in Criminal Justice, with a concentration in policing, from Michigan State University. Her research interests include police misconduct, police accountability, and civilian review boards.  Laurie has completed all course work for a Ph.D. in Criminology in the Sociology and Anthropology Department at Howard University and currently is working on her dissertation.
