ILJ has conducted numerous studies of community corrections and jails. In the National Assessment Project for the National Institute of Justice, ILJ staff examined the problems and needs of probation offices and jails. In the National Baseline Cost Study, also for the National Institute of Justice, ILJ examined the costs of local jails, local probation offices, and other local sanctions.
