Evaluation of Grants to Encourage Arrest Policies Program, Violence Against Women Act

ILJ is currently conducting a national evaluation of projects funded under the Grants to Encourage Arrest Policies Program. The methodology includes a survey of grantee agencies; process evaluations in 20 sites; and impact evaluations in six sites. The impact evaluations will involve analyses of official crime data; development of measures unique to each site; and individual interviews and focus groups with victims of domestic violence. To conduct this comprehensive evaluation, ILJ is working with a national Advisory Board of experts in domestic violence research and victim services, as well as with local criminal justice agencies and victim service providers.
