Development of a Program Model on Economic Analysis Techniques

Under a subcontract for the National Institute of Justice, ILJ prepared a program model on economic analysis techniques for corrections. The program model focused on the use of economic analysis in the correctional decisionmaking process by describing several economic techniques and demonstrating their application to areas of concern to correctional researchers and decisionmakers. The project required a synthesis of economic research in corrections, field interviews with practitioners, presentation of technical concepts for both managers and researchers, and incorporation of recommendations from a project advisory board.
