Staff Analysis of Multnomah County, Oregon, Correctional Institutions

The purpose of the staff analysis of the correctional institutions of the Division of Corrections, Multnomah County, Oregon, was to identify current and potential problems in the administration of four facilities and staff implications arising from problem resolution. The study addressed the broader managerial and policy issues associated with staffing decisions of this nature. Various factors were examined in an effort to make recommendations for the current and projected staffing levels. Among factors considered in this analysis were size of the population to be served, the physical layout of the institutions, the management and program priorities of the agency, and possible effect of related judicial decisions on the staffing policy. ILJ prepared a report that summarized the analysis and the policy recommendations.
